Remembering that Mountain Dew has always been known for its high caffeine content, I thought it would make a good subject for “keeping you awake”.

Shooting a carbonated beverage let me practice some skills I’ve been wanting to get better at, such as backlight and shutter speed selection, while attempting to capture bubbles in motion.

ISO 100, f/2.5 for a very shallow depth of field, and 1/800 of a second to stop the bubbles in motion. Backlight and a fill light on the right side; with a white reflector board on the left side to help bounce the light back.

I appreciate you stopping by my photo blog; any comments are most welcome!

  1. Looks very refreshing and makes me want to have one. I haven’t had one in years! Love your photography. Brings a smile to my face!

  2. Hahaha, I took a sip of this last night and thought it was awful…! But, if my photo made you want some, I have done my job 🙂 Thanks Marcy, so appreciated.
